GUEST LECTURE

Join us for a guest lecture by Obbe Norbruis, a Dutch architect and urban planner who, after decades of working in spatial planning, turned his focus to the colonial architectural heritage of the Dutch East Indies—present-day Indonesia.

Through independent research, he published two comprehensive books on the work of Ed. Cuypers, Marius Hulswit, and the Fermont-Cuypers office—architects who shaped the built environment of the Dutch East Indies from 1897 to 1957.

In this talk, Colonial Architecture from Another Point of View, Norbruis offers a fresh perspective on this shared architectural legacy between the Netherlands and Indonesia.
