The NBRI-ITB Team Wins Second Place in the 2021 National Green Building Council Ideas Competition by GBCI and World GBC

Shafira Ramadhani Busono - Architecture of the Bandung Institute of Technology, Muhammad Isa Tsaqif - Architecture of the Bandung Institute of Technology, and Moh. Wahyu Syaiful M – National Battery Research Institute has won second place in the 2021 National Green Building Council Ideas Competition by GBCI and World GBC.
This event was held to gather ideas regarding the theme raised, namely Net Zero Healthy Building with the following assessment criteria:
- Produce architectural designs that are correct (according to rules and regulations) and attractive
- Embodied Carbon Calculation
- Calculation of Operational Carbon
- Projection of Energy Consumption Index used
- Meet the specified building criteria
- Meets the Net Zero Healthy Building criteria
The title of the work submitted in the competition is Jowata. Jowata is a green terracing concept inspired by the terms in Sundanese, Hejo which means green and Perwata which means mountain, as a form of building harmonization with the surrounding environment. The embodiment of the Jowata concept is a revolutionary green building by developing three main issues, namely social, ecological and economic. As a forum for social interaction, optimizing blue and green KBP infrastructure, and empowering the local community's economy. For the sake of achieving a sustainable smart and green community towards net zero.
